What The International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers does
Mission
Isjac provides a comprehensive set of programs that support and advance the work of jazz composers and arrangers. Our biannual flagship jazz composers symposium convenes more than 200 participants for concerts, presentations, workshops, and community-building at rotating host institutions. Launchpad, offered free to members in partnership with 480 arts in st. Paul, mn, gives composers the opportunity to have their works professionally read and recorded by a resident jazz orchestra. Our prize and commission program awards between $10,000 and $20,000 annually through two major commissions and five competitive prizes, attracting up to 150 applicants each cycle.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

The event also features public evening performances that draw additional audiences from the surrounding community. Renowned for its energy and familial vibe, the symposium serves as the premier global gathering for jazz composers and arrangers to exchange ideas, build community, and advance the evolution of the art form.

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $19 → $17.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Where its funders are
100% of THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF JAZZ ARRANGERS AND COMPOSERS's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $79 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
