What The Good Planet Inc does
Mission
The mission of the good planet is to advance the goodwill workforce and our local communities through sustainable innovative recycling solutions, so its work remains at the center of people, planet and prosperity. The good planet is powered by goodwill of greater washington, goodwill industries of the chesapeake and goodwill of delaware and delaware county.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Program
The good planet is focused on upskilling the collective workforces of its supported organizations to recycle items with an initial focus on extending the life of pulverized glass, rigid and soft plastics, and a focus on textiles. The good planet's impact is defined by the number of low-to-moderate-income (lmi) team members of the supported goodwill organizations who are able to build better lives through the mission of the good planet and through its ability to provide sustainable solutions for the millions of pounds of plastics and glass that aren't able to be sold in the 68 retail stores of the supported goodwill organizations throughout delaware county, pennsylvania, the state of delaware, the chesapeake area of maryland, the district of columbia and northern virginia. In recycling solutions, utilized three glass pulverizing machines and secured a partnership for a local business to take the pulverized glass to use in their operations. The partnership audited nearly 10,000 unsold textile items to determine the quality of the textiles and potential recyclable solutions for them.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2022, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2022, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $17k to $27k (+63%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
