What The Dr Lanse T Fox Memorial Organization does
Mission
Our mission is to host events to raise funds for academic scholarships for students attending college and veterinary school, primarily at ross university school of veterinary medicine. Our nonprofits namesake, dr. Lanse t. Fox, was a graduate of rusvm and owed much of his life experience and success to his time there, and our goal is to help other students realize their dreams of going to school there and becoming veterinarians.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
We have established an endowed scholarship with the empower scholarship fund, which is the foundation that houses scholarship funds benefitting students attending rusvm. We have also provided numerous local scholarships for students attending university, community college, and trade school from kaufman high school, where lanse granduated from in 2004, and cotulla high school, where we now have our largest fundraiser and lanse had many friends.

This fund was established at the laredo area community foundation, and it will disburse scholarships for students graduating from cotulla high school. We are already the largest scholarship giver at chs graduation each year, and the establishment and growth of our endowment at lacf will ensure that our scholarships will be disbursed there in perpetuity. This endowment fund is scheduled to disburse for the first time in 2025.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2022 to 2023, from $62k to $278k (+352%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2023 1% · 2024 3%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
63% of THE DR LANSE T FOX MEMORIAL ORGANIZATION’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (57% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $190 → $203.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of THE DR LANSE T FOX MEMORIAL ORGANIZATION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of THE DR LANSE T FOX MEMORIAL ORGANIZATION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $982 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
