01What it does

What The Dove Foundation does

Mission

To encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment

As stated on its FY2017 Form 990.

Program

To encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment ethics and awards the dove seal of approval for qualifying films/dvd for family friendly viewing. The foundation reviews 500 movies/dvd's annualy. We had developed relationships with film makers, major studios, independent film makers, and distributors. The foundation maintains a web-site for families to visit and read reviews on new releases or dvd's so they are aware of the content their families will be exposed to and whether the movie/dvd is suitable for family viewing. The web-site houses nearly 10,000 reviews on movies and dved along with many articles, interviews with film makers, etc. To provide information to discerning parents trying to make wise entertainment choices. Additionally, we assist producers and distributors in marketing films that have been awarded the dove family approved seal to a select audience that has opted for news and information about family friendly entertainment and work with films in process recommending edits to productions to remove inappropriate material to help develop the products into a position that can be marketed to families…
