01What it does

What The Collective Elca Co does

Mission

The collective is a churchwithout walls seeking to offer a compelling vision of love andbelonging to new generations in atlanta and beyond. We are a churchwhich radically affirms the identity and personhood of all people, achurch which stands in solidarity with our vulnerable neighbors, achurch which prides itself on being a place where you belong just asyou are.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. In 2025, the collective expanded its worship offerings by adding a second monthly service. On average, the collective engages 52 people at each of our worship services. In addition to our regularly scheduled events, we have also hosted community worship nights at off-site locations which engage people who might not otherwise visit a church.

  2. The collective continues to coordinate a robust food ministry. We partner with central outreach and advocacy to provide breakfast to our neighbors without homes, feeding around 1,000 neighbors in 2025 through this program. We also partnered with the sandwich project to feed 1,000 neighbors. These two events, coupled with other service opportunities, allowed us to feed more than 3,000 people in 2025.

  3. Through a generous grant from emory university, the collective has expanded its ministry to young adults - adding a monthly young adult brunch and hosting quarterly young adult socials. These events have helped us engage people who do not often engage with church. In fact, in the last few months of 2025, 60-70% of our worshipping population was under 40. We are flipping the traditional assumptions of who wants to attend, or engage, with church.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of THE COLLECTIVE ELCA CO’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of THE COLLECTIVE ELCA CO's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $6k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
