01What it does

What The Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education Inc does

Mission

To provide education and training for teachers planning to work in high poverty schools and to grant masters of effective teaching degrees.

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990.

Program

On its FY2022 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

As of june 30, 2023, the graduate school has discontinued its operations and transferred all remaining assets to match foundation, inc. As part of a merger.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Due to the organization's focused mission, there is only one program. Because it ceased operations on june 30, 2023, during the 2022-23 school year the organization served only second-year students in its two-year graduate degree program. At the beginning of the year 20 individuals were enrolled in the organization's teacher training program, all of whom were in year two of the program working to earn their masters in effective teaching degree. Ultimately 18 of them completed the necessary coursework, while working as first- or second-year teachers in urban schools across the united states, and in so doing completed the program's requirements and earned the aforementioned degree, which was bestowed in june 2023. Upon its june 30, 2023, closure all assets of the organization were merged with those of the match foundation, inc.

1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 3% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

THE CHARLES SPOSATO GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 95% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

98% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE CHARLES SPOSATO GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $100k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
