What The Bloc Inc does
Mission
The bloc builds infrastructure for the populist era and the attention economy. We work with base-building groups, advocacy campaigns, policymakers, content creators, and coalitions to move their priorities and narratives through mainstream media, political forums, and digital platforms. Our goal is to ensure that multi-racial, working-class voices don't just speak coherently, they break through the noise, shape public debate, and build power.our program consists of three components - movements, media, and politics.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Program
The uncommitted movement transformed grassroots momentum into measurable political impact. The strong voter turnout for the uncommitted movement - nearly 100,000 votes in michigan and over 800,000 nationwide - demonstrated our ability to convert community-based organizing into tangible results through innovative communications. Beyond votes, our work elevated critical issues to the national stage. The uncommitted campaign compelled elected leaders and the media to engage with demands for a ceasefire in gaza and accountability in u.s. Foreign policy - topics previously sidelined in mainstream political debates.additionally, our strategic communications efforts amplified the movement's reach, generating over $74 million in earned media coverage during the democratic national convention (dnc). This visibility not only broadened public awareness but also pressured political leaders to address the movement's demands. These achievements reflect the effectiveness of our approach - leveraging grassroots organizing, coalition-building, and strategic…

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund THE BLOC INC.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
