Mission

Creating and promoting collaboration to protect, restore, and maintain healthy, equitable communities, both human and natural, for the benefit of present and future generations.

Programs

  1. Tool Library: Since 2017, this all-volunteer operated facility has loaned up to 7 tools each week/member for a $25 annual membership. Since 2017, we have signed up over 1000 members. Current paid memberships equal 254. Tools are for home repair, garden and yard work, home improvement projects, and other craft projects. Tools are either electrical or hand operated. There is no gas driven tools. Members pay late fees if tools are kept over one week.

  2. Corporate activities: We currently participate in community activities such as the December downtown float parade, Earthday celebrations with a booth at the local college or a downtown park, and the Saturday market with an educational booth. Over the years we have presented forums on sustainable ways to heat one's home, composting, and sustainable living practices. Years ago, we taught strawbale construction. For many years, we made garden plots available for a small fee so that people in a poor neighborhood could raise their own produce. This stopped when the donated land was sold to someone who did not want to continue our garden.

  3. New Tool Library home: From 2017 until July 2026, we rented a home for our Tool Library. As a result of a surprise donation of $60,000 and a member donation of $25,000, we were able to buy a blighted building in a very poor neighborhood in Klamath Falls and remodel it as our new home.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of SUSTAINABLE KLAMATH’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of SUSTAINABLE KLAMATH's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $154 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
