What Southeast Texas Family Resource Center Inc does

Mission

The mission of the Southeast Texas Family Resource Center, which is located in Beaumonts Charlton-Pollard neighborhood, is to create and support programs and to participate in collaborative efforts dedicated to fostering positive cycles of growth, development and personal responsibility. For the local children we serve, that translates into quality education, skill development, and a safe supportive and nurturing environment away from the negative influences in low-income neighborhoods.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. After school and summer programs: The Center provides care for low income children between the ages of 4 and 14. During the school year, the program provides homework assistance and computer usage for approximately 90 children. During the summer, the program provides camps in various school subjects (such as science, math and language) and supervised recreational activities for approximately 110 children. The program employs two certified teachers who assist in identifying children who are not performing at grade level, design child-specific programs to develope skills in targeted areas, and train and supervise existing staff to implement these programs.
