What Shenandoah Film Collaborative Inc does
Mission
We have two areas of focus: 1) Offer opportunities for residents to experience the wonders of film that cannot be found from Hollywood. 2) Raise funds and awareness for the Shenandoah County Public School System where the money would be used for theater/drama-related programming.
As stated on its FY2018 Form 990-EZ.
Program
We held our seasonal film series at various locations within Shenandoah County. On average it was about once a month. These events were to lead up to the Strasburg Film Festival, which occurred in November. We didn't charge anything but had a donation jar up. We got a nice turnout for each event. Programs and dates included: Loving the Movies Game Night - FEB 14; Night O'Irish Films - MAR 31; Seasonal Film Series - Ridge Runner Farms and Brewing Co. - JUN 28; Seasonal Film Series - Shorts Seasonal Film Series - Shorts - JUL 25; Free Family Film Night October - OCT 6; Waiting for Waldemar/Sea-Tectives - DEC 2; The Oldies - DEC 15. The costs for this included 200 for the Night O' Irish Films, Projector, Screen and Speakers which were also used for the Strasburg Film Festival. Will add in an estimated cost for the whole event to be around $500 to include the purchase of the screen, projector, speakers and screening rights. The benefit that these events brought was a wide variety of community gatherings for people to come together and watch something that they couldn't find in the theatres. From the Night O' Irish Films, we made $54 in ticket sales.
The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.
Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $23 → $16.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of SHENANDOAH FILM COLLABORATIVE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of SHENANDOAH FILM COLLABORATIVE INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $55 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
