What Second Chance 4 Pets does
Mission
The mission of 2nd chance 4 pets is to reduce the number of pets unnecessarily euthanized each year due to the death or incapacity of the human companions who care for them. 2nd chance 4 pets is a non-profit 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization. We are working throughout california and nationwide to provide pet owners with comprehensive information and lifetime care solutions, ensuring that their pets will always be provided proper care.
As stated on its FY2017 Form 990-EZ.
Program
Veterinarian outreach and companions for seniors2nd chance 4 pets was established as a nonprofit in may 2004. Each year, more than 500,000 pets are surrendered to shelters in the united states because their owners died or became too ill to care for their pets. This tragedy is the result of pet owners not having a plan in place for someone to care for their pets should anything happen to them. We are very enthusiastic having the opportunity - for fourteen years -to provide important information about lifetime care planning to pet owners, animal welfare organizations and veterinarians across the united states. Our resources, programs, webinars and workshops help to ensure peace of mind for pet owners and prevent orphaned pets from being surrendered to animal shelters where they may be euthanized. Our all-volunteer team continues to provide comprehensive information and resources to pet owners, ensuring that they plan for the possibility that their pets might outlive them. We continue to take advantage of many opportunities to promote our mission. Through national conference presentations, grants and awards, public relations and partnerships, our message of lifetime care planning…
