01What it does

What Sculpture Evergreen does

Mission

The mission of Sculpture Evergreen is to cultivate a program of sculpture acquisition, sculpture walks, education, and other public activities to beautify public buildings and open spaces and encourage the expression and appreciation of sculpture. We serve the same area as Evergreen Parks and Recreation District that includes the communities of Evergreen, Kittredge, Marshdale and Indian Hills. Note - Effective 12/31/22 all assets were transferred to Evergreen Center for the Arts Inc

As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Estimate over 50,000 people of all age groups. Permanent Sculptures - installed and purchased over the 26 year history 38 permanent sculptures throughout the Evergreen community. They are open to the public at no cost for viewing and art appreciation 24/7. It is difficult to estimate the number of people that see these sculptures but we estimate over 50,000 people of all age groups. Education - during the year we host various groups for sculpture tours and talks with the artists. We also have special art shows for young people. In addition, each year we host special needs kids to have them create sculptures.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2017 → 2022: the base narrowed from 2 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $10k → $5.

5 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 97% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of SCULPTURE EVERGREEN’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

SCULPTURE EVERGREEN leans on a few funders — its largest provides 39% of grant income and the top three 84%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

97% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund SCULPTURE EVERGREEN.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 99% · 2018 96% · 2019 100% · 2020 46% · 2021 96% · 2022 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

97% of SCULPTURE EVERGREEN's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $1k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from Colorado funders.

Colorado out of state home

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $43k arriving through sponsors registered in 4 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
