What Save Our Strays Inc does
Mission
SOS transports homeless animals to various humane societies mostly in the Quad Cities and Chicago IL metro areas in order for them to be rehomed. We house, feed, and give veterinary care to these animals while they are waiting for acceptance to same humane societies. SOS spays and neuters animals before transport and also vaccinates them for communicable diseases and treats them for skin disorders also. These animals come mostly from small communities that have no other recourse than to put them down if not for SOS. This is a win win for both the animal and the cities.
As stated on its FY2021 Form 990-EZ.
Program
We performed 24 animal transports from Ardmore and Roland Oklahoma to the Quad Cities area of Iowa/Illinois and Suburban Chicago area (primarily Naperville Area Humane Society) to rescue animals that were due to be euthanized. We saved an average of 23 animals per transport. We do not charge for this effort, we do this for humanitarian reasons in honor of our daughter Stephanie Suzanne Guthrie who passed away April 21, 2002 while on a transport to Joliet IL.
The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2020 to 2021, from $3 to $1k (+48433%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 1 of the last 5 reported years ran a deficit.
