What Red Chair Productions does
Mission
Red Chair Productions is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes, specifically to inspire, motivate, mentor and share the physical arts with students of all ages through extraordinary dance and performing arts experiences. This will be accomplished through classes, training, rehearsal and performance opportunities.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
Annual Nutcracker Performances: We produce annually The Nutcracker at a professional theatre. This production of the Nutcracker fills all of its primary roles with children, ages 5-18. This creates an incredible performance opportunity for young dancers, including not only the performances themselves, but also the training taught alongside the production and the mentorship between the older and younger dancers. It increases the availability of arts and performance opportunities within our community.
$129,426 spent100% of program spendingLocal Arts Performance Opportunities: By taking our art (dance and music) into the community for various community events, we are not only creating additional performance opportunities for our students, but we are also bringing arts into the community and increasing access. Additionally, our specialized dance troupe, the Kickettes, are dancers, ages 10-18 years, that perform at the City of Burbanks Annual Tree Lighting, as well as entertain senior citizens in local senior centers during the holidays. We aim to bring joy and community spirit to those that may not have the means to leave their homes. Additionally, we aim to support local community events with entertainment comprised of young artists from the area.
Local Sponsorship: We engage with other arts programs throughout our local community. We sponsor dance recitals, music performances and volunteer within the school district to continue arts education. Red Chair sponsors and assists local performing arts schools and programs with the production of their recitals and shows. Our goal is to sponsor programs that offer performing arts opportunities within the community. Red Chair's sponsorship promotes affordable community performing arts programs in public and private schools, as well as within community-based programs, such as Boys & Girls Clubs. Our dancers, alumni and professional volunteers work together with local programs and schools to offer time, expertise and training to the teachers and/or their students. Through this programing, we aim to bridge the gap between the current crisis within arts' funding in education and every child's right to have access to performing arts educational experience.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $58k to $103k (+77%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
4% of RED CHAIR PRODUCTIONS’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (64% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 2 of the last 6 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
2020 → 2022: the base held at 1 funder, grant income rose $37 → $40.
1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of RED CHAIR PRODUCTIONS’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
100% of RED CHAIR PRODUCTIONS's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $184 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
