What Queens County Bar Association does
Mission
Queens County Bar Association membership organization for attorneys in queens county. The association conducts continuing education seminars and runs various activities relating to the legal profession.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
Continuing education - the association conducts continuing legal education seminars.
Referral fees - the Queens County Bar Association maintains a legal referral service and provides referrals to attorneys competent in the area of law consistent with the matter in question to members of the community requesting such a referral. The attorneys on our panels (I.e. Family law, personal injury, immigration, etc.) pay a fee to be included on the panel list and referrals are made on a strict rotation basis, regardless of geographic location or any other factors except for languages spoken in the attorney's office. (for example, if a potential litigant only speaks chinese, he/she will be referred to an attorney that speaks chinese if such an attorney participates in that specific panel.) attorneys may opt to be included on multiple panels, provided they are competent in each practice area.
Member related events - member related events consist of judiciary, past presidents and golden jubilarian night, annual dinner and installation of officers, annual golf outing and annual holiday party.
The 3 programs described on its FY2024 Form 990, listed largest first by expense.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $107k to $233k (+117%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2025 13%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 6 of the last 9 reported years ran a deficit.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
Chief executive
Jonathan Riegel Cae
Executive director
As listed on its FY2025 Form 990.
The chief executive listed changed between the FY2020 and FY2021, and between the FY2022 and FY2023 filings.
