What Properties for Children does

Mission

To enhance the quality of life for children under care by providing a safe and healthy environment within which to live, learn and heal.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. Properties for Children (pfc) is the dedicated property-holding and property-management entity within the children's hope alliance (cha) family of nonprofit organizations. As a type ii supporting organization under 509(a)(3), pfc holds, maintains, and manages the real property and physical facilities used by the consolidated organization to deliver direct services to over 7,500 children and families annually across 63 nc counties. Strategic asset optimization: pfc is executing a board-directed, multi-year initiative to optimize the consolidated organization's real estate portfolio. To strengthen long-term financial sustainability and maximize mission impact, the board of directors has directed a disciplined strategy of divesting non-performing assets and redeploying…

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Left out of every figure on this page: $7.8M from 4 payers (the payer shares this organization's board, largest Children's Hope Alliance Foundation). These are real filings, and they are not money PROPERTIES FOR CHILDREN raised.

From the IRS filings of PROPERTIES FOR CHILDREN’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of PROPERTIES FOR CHILDREN's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $16k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
