01What it does

What Princeton Haiti Konekte Inc does

Mission

Konekte is a non profit dedicated to education, and to improving the lives of children and their communities through educational programs and long term partnerships with schools and orphanages in the Ganthier area, Haiti. We work together with Haitian communities to design and fund educational programs empowering children and building the next generation of skilled Haitian women and men. We partner with 2 schools and 1 orphanage. We also have helped building a whole school, other classrooms, playground, vegetable garden...Because of extremely dangerous situation in Haiti, we could not visit the schools since 2020. However we kept in contact every week through virtual calls and text messages to help them through an extremely difficult time ( gangs are threatening the population). In August 2023 we helped to start University Programs to enable students to continue their education after high school. in 2025 We offered 3 programs: business/administration, Education and Nursing schools.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2025 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

In 2025, the University NEXUS of Haiti offered a third program : Science of Nursing school. The 3 programs Science of Business Administration, Science of Education and Nursing school serves more than 250 students. KONEKTE sends funds for material such as computers, solar panels, projectors, photocopiers... and salaries for local director and staff.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. Educational programs at " College Mixte Marius Carnold" school:a school with 700 students from preschool to 12 grade in Fond Parisien in the Ganthier area. Our partnership started in 2012 after the earthquake. In 14 years the student body grew from 80 to around 500 students in 2025. Objectives: we send funds to pay teacher salaries and staff. If there is a paid teacher in the classroom, students can receive an education for free. This allows students to go to school regardless their ability to pay the tuition. In 2025 we increased the salarie amount because of the increase cost for food, gas and other necessary items. Konekte also sent funds to increase the security of the pupils in the school ( fences...) and funds to buy school supplies. The gangs are still around the city but the school keeps welcoming more than 500 students. Konekte continues to send funds for teacher salaries and school improvements. Konekte also sent funds for food.

  2. Educational programs at "College Mixte La Référence de Ganthier" school: partnership since 2013 at the creation of the school with 2 classes in 2013 ( 40 students in 7th and 8th grade). Over the years, Konekte sent funds to build a new school campus, in two phases, adding 12 more classrooms to the 6 classrooms already built in 2019. This allows the school to open preschool and elementary school classes and a library, a small cafeteria. In October 2023, the school had around 800 students. Konekte also sent funds to buy computers, to fund teacher training in the Summer, to buy Solar panels and batteries to enable the school not to depend on Haitian services. Because of the very violent situation with gangs kidnapping and robbing people, parents do not have jobs and can not pay the very minimum school tuition. Konekte decided to send some funds to help pay teachers when the tuitions could not longer cover the costs, and to cover teacher training weeks. The school is offering the best education in the area in a beautiful environment favorable to learning. The school received highest awards for sensitivity to educational mission, to community and sustainability. Also the school was one…

  3. Konekte sent funds to allow children from la Maison d'enfants orphanage to go to school. Sponsors send $800 per year to allow one child to go to La Référence school. In 2023, Konekte decided to sponsor the 40 kids living in the orphanage. The funds we send are used to pay school tuition, uniforms, shoes, and books. In 2024, the orphanage had to close because of the gang's attack. Children had to flee with the orphanage staff. In 2025, the orphanage relocated in Fonds Parisien, and KONEKTE continues to send funds for tuition in schools in the new town where they settled, food, clothing and relocation. Despite all that happens, Konekte sends regular updates about the work and grades and activities the children are doing.

  4. KONEKTE helped start a University in the Ganthier/ Fond Parisien area. The university is called Université NEXUS d'Haiti and it has been accredited by the Haitian government in October 2025. Michel Valentin, citizen of Haiti, is the founder of NEXUS and is the Haitian director of the university. In 2025 NEXUS offered 3 programs: Science of Education, Science of Business/Administration and Nursing school. It served more than 250 students. Konekte sends funds for material such as computers, projectors, solar panels, batteries to be able to offer classes through virtual classrooms. Konekte also sends funds for staff and local professors salaries. The rest of the University professors are volunteers from France or the US.

3 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of PRINCETON HAITI KONEKTE INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

PRINCETON HAITI KONEKTE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 95% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund PRINCETON HAITI KONEKTE INC.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of PRINCETON HAITI KONEKTE INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $768k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
