01What it does

What Potential Energy Inc does

Mission

Potential Energy adapts and scales technologies that improve lives in developing countries.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Potential Energy carried out the marketing, sales, and distribution of 2,210 energy saving biomass stoves throughout Uganda. We also trained each user on how to properly use the stove and carried out awareness campaigns on the environmental, financial and health benefits of improved cooking, impacting the lives of 11,050 Ugandans. We expanded our reach in 2025 by distributing the cookstoves through door-to-door campaigns directly connecting with households, road drives taking products to communities and exhibitions showcasing at key events. We also continued the partnership with Equity Bank to enhance financing access to reach rural and peri-urban areas of the country covering 10 districts.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Potential Energy Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of Potential Energy Inc's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $258 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
