01What it does

What Postpartum Progress Inc does

Mission

Postpartum Progress raises awareness, fights stigma and provides peer support to women with maternal mental illness. Our most significant activities are raising awareness through public education and outreach.

As stated on its FY2017 Form 990-EZ.

Program

General Program: The Organization's mission is to give new families a stronger start by increasing awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, reducing stigma and providing tools that connect moms to treatment. The Organization accomplishes this mission through these key projects: an award winning blog that reaches more than one million new moms each year; a moderated private patient forum for thousands of moms struggling to recover from maternal mental illness; annual Climb Out of the Darkness event to raise awareness; grants to state organizations to help cover costs of direct services for under-served women with maternal mental illness; and coordination with external partners on important research studies. On February 27, 2017, the Organization's Board of Directors voted to begin the process of ceasing operations. On March 17, 2017, the Organization filed a formal notice to dissolve with the State of Georgia. The Organization ceased operations on December 31, 2017.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990-EZ.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of POSTPARTUM PROGRESS INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of POSTPARTUM PROGRESS INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $16k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
