The Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers (PGHW) is a volunteer-led and volunteer-managed nonprofit dedicated to fostering the fiber arts through education, outreach, and community connection. We have no paid staff, and all of our programs are coordinated by a committed team of volunteers. In FY2024, PGHW generated $52,976 in program revenue and incurred $12,204 in direct program costs, resulting in a surplus of $40,772. This surplus allowed us to cover our general operating expenses, including insurance, utilities, and maintenance of our Guild House in Manayunk. 1. Education: Classes and Workshops PGHW offered a variety of fiber arts classes and workshops open to the public, including instruction in weaving, spinning, dyeing, sewing, and more. These programs were led by skilled instructors and served participants ranging from beginners to experienced fiber artists. Program revenue from classes and workshops totaled $17,228, with direct expenses of $10,709 for instructor fees and materials. 2.
