Currently there are gaps in connecting victims of violent crime to community services including counseling, legal assistance, housing employment and food. There is no longer a shelter in the tri-county area for victims and currently a 2 month plus wait period for victims to receive counseling. The creation of this navigational center will provide contract counseling and wrap around services and advocacy. This is crucial for preventing situations where unexpressed emotions manifest into destructive behavior." The Boyz to Men conference seeks to challenge traditional narratives around masculinity and provide a platform for young men and boys to discuss difficult topics. the conference challenges the notion that young men should navigate life challenges alone, learning the hard way. "unlike the sink or swim" approach, our event creates an environment that encourages open dialogues, support and mentorship. "Mentorship is the cornerstone of this conference.
