Mission
Outpost artists resources is an artist run, multi-service arts organization founded in 1991 and now located on the bushwick brooklyn/ridgewood queens border. Outpost supports new creative work through its residencies, events and uses its space as a social meeting ground for local artists. Our mission is to serve artists in need of technical assistance with video, audio, and physical computing based art projects and to foster a dialogue between visual art and experimental music. Outpost hosts gallery exhibitions, artist talks, screenings and events that pair visual art, video, experimental music, and performance in an effort to bring adventurous audiences challenging interdisciplinary projects.

Program
In the past fiscal year, outpost has granted residencies to unique and diverse projects. Ridgewood radio:hosted every wednesday on wfmu's give the drummer radio stream. Ridgewood radio features live sets by adventurous bands, experimental music, and archival tapes, collected from clubs and galleries throughout the 5 boroughs of nyc. This radio program broadcasts from the outpost at 1665 norman st. In 2019 we broadcast 38 installments of this radio show, featuring approximately 190 artists and reaching audiences across the united states - about 200 people for the live show and then, over time, triple that with archive listeners. We have tracked people primarily nyc and nj, upstate ny, scotland, england, sf and la, florida, portland, and we know that the other drummer djs listen from everywhere from australia to berlin to topeka to texas to pittsburgh.cuts and burns residency program:the cuts and burns residency program is dedicated to assisting artists with developing projects in video, experimental sound, new media and interactive technology, by providing them with professional editors, engineers, and programmers who are passionate about contemporary art.in 2019 seven artists…
