Mission

National Trappers Foundation (ntf) was established to improve knowledge as well as to inform and educate the public about the furbearer species. The mission is to stimulate public interest and appreciation of furbearers and natural resources. Ntf also wants to raise awareness of the need and importance of restoring, using wisely, and scientifically managing furbearers by promoting improved environmental education through coordination and cooperation with other organizations, agencies, and individuals with similar interests.

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. National Trappers Foundation (ntf) establishes programs to preserve and enhance the furbearer habitat. Programs also promote and assist scientific research of furbearer species and their needs. Ntf also teaches conservation education to the public, monitors species population densities, and provides research grants and scholarships.

1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 3% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $2k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
