Program
In Fall 2020, we created a new grant-making program, the "Partner-In-Spirit" Grants to support individual musicians, arts professionals and arts institutions who have been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in local communities in New York and New Jersey. In 2022, we continued this grant making program with one additional grant to MOSSO -Musicians of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Springfield MA who were in dire financial need for the continuation of their musical programs. We have continued planning new programs to provide an instrumental music education program for underserved children and youth in New Jersey. In 2023 and 2024 no new grants were disbursed. We anticipate continuing to make grants in the future. In 2023, we laid the groundwork for a music education program for these children and youth in New Jersey and the region. We secured some instruments and teachers for this program in calendar year 2024. We have also begun planning a return to our large- scale humanitarian concert projects in 2025-2026. Our Artistic Director had to have open heart surgery in the second half of 2024 and most of our program activities planned for 2024-2025 were delayed to 2025-2026. We…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $4k to $11k (+147%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
100% of MUSIC FOR LIFE INTERNATIONAL INC’s revenue is contributions — more reliant on donations than three-quarters of its peers (78% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 6 of the last 9 reported years ran a deficit.

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base held at 1 funder, grant income fell $2k → $25.
1 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is
MUSIC FOR LIFE INTERNATIONAL INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 41% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 2 funders.

In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $67 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
