What Michigan Ag Council Inc does
Mission
To raise awareness among michigan consumers about the state's food and agriculture industry.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
In 2025 we hosted three on farm dinners that were held inhamilton, byron, and vassar. Each unique farm allowed us to showcase michigan agriculture to social media and community influencers. With the help of our sponsors, michigan corn, michigan pork producers, and michigan soybean, we were able to provide hands on learning opportunities to attendees. Events allowed for education, networking, and the enjoyment of a michigan grown dinner.
The michigan ag council utilized funds from a specialty crop block grant from the usda to collaborate with social media influencers to promote michigan grown specialty crops, and farm families. Throughout the first year of this grant in 2025, influencer created content reached over 783,000 individuals.
In 2025, the michigan ag council worked with five collegiate ambassadors to promote michigan grown, michigan great. Our ambassadors assisted with farmers market outreach, events, and social media content creation. With the content they created, we were able to reach nearly 88,574 consumers through our social media platforms.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2019, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2019, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $165k to $97k (−41%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Government-grant reliance: 2023 34% · 2024 26% · 2025 16%. Grants only. Government contracts and fees sit inside program revenue.
16% of MICHIGAN AG COUNCIL INC’s revenue is contributions — more earned-revenue than three-quarters of its peers (94% for the typical peer).
