01What it does

What Metropolitan Schoolhouse Chicago does

Mission

At metropolitan schoolhouse, differentiated learning is taken to a new level by recognizing and nurturing the unique abilities and talents of each student. Our goal is that through this differentiation we will facilitate the development of curious, kind, and knowledgeable young people who will go on to create a better tomorrow for all of us. By connecting classroom learning to the real world we encourage our students to become lifelong learners

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Program

  1. Metropolitan Schoolhouse Chicago applies differentiated learning by recognizing and nurturing the unique abilities and talents of each student. Our whole-child, individualized curriculum provides the academic rigor our students deserve and the social-emotional supports they need. Our unique approach allows us to serve students who are not successful in more traditional environments and often do not have options for alternative placement in grades kindergarten-12th. The diagnoses we typically support include adha, axiety, language disorders, hfasd, and school refusal issues. The organization currently provides services for approximately 25-30 students.

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of METROPOLITAN SCHOOLHOUSE CHICAGO’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of METROPOLITAN SCHOOLHOUSE CHICAGO's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $30k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
