At a time of deep division and global instability, mpv is fostering a practical, cross-sector coalition that recognizes journalists and digital creators as vital connectorsshaping narratives, building power, and reframing peace as a viable solution to conflict. By making peace visible, tangible and relevant to people's everyday lives, mpv promotes a civic culture that prioritizes dialogue over division and recognizes peace as fundamental to democracy.

Disrupting the narrative:the making peace visible podcast: too often, stories about peace and conflict in the news are flattened into black-and-white narratives. Making peace visible challenges this oversimplification by offering nuanced, multidimensional perspectives on the realities of conflict and the possibilities for peace. Through conversations with journalists, peacebuilders, filmmakers, scholars, and activists, we spotlight those who are reshaping media narrativesand redefining how peace and conflict are understood. With over 70 episodes and listeners in more than 124 countries, making peace visible is bringing a new kind of storytelling to the global conversation.

In 2026, the international summit on peace, conflict and the media in washington, d.c. Will create a platform for key stakeholders in conflict reporting journalists, editors, and media scholars to engage with peacebuilders, neuroscientists, and technologists to examine the news media's dual role in helping and hindering peace efforts. The summit will feature dynamic presentations, experiential workshops, and the latest research,fostering dialogue about innovative strategies for reimagining media coverage of peace and conflict. This event follows the success of our inaugural symposium at the new york times center in 2018, a partnership with the pulitzer center on crisis reporting that attracted over 400 peacebuilders, journalists, and other media professionals.
