01What it does

What Lyngblomsten Services Inc does

Mission

Influenced by christ, lyngblomsten provides a ministry of compassionate care and innovative services to older adults in order to preserve and enhance their quality of life.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

On its FY2023 return the organization reported starting a significant new program and a significant change in how it conducts a program.

In conjunction with the opening of the lyngblomsten at lino lakes senior living campus, staff made plans to expand the reach of community services and offer programming to more people living in the northeast metro. These plans included adding a session of the memory loss caregivers support group, which began in fall 2023 at the lino lakes campus. In addition, staff prepared to offer a new session of the gathering (memory loss enrichment and respite program) to begin in early 2024 at the lino lakes campus. A new topic in the older adult ministry forum series, equipping congregations to respond to the maltreatment of vulnerable adults, was introduced.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

The transition of the department name from "2nd half with lyngblomsten" to "lyngblomsten community services" was completed. Lyngblomsten community services offered more in-person programming than the year prior. In addition, it discontinued offering the pearls (program to encourage active, rewarding lives) and reach (resources for enhancing alzheimer's caregiver health) programs. In 2023, construction was completed for lyngblomsten's new senior living campus in lino lakes, minnesota. Residents of the townhomes began moving in in the winter, and residents of the main building started moving in in the summer. Lyngblomsten home health services prepared for and launched operations for serving assisted living and memory care residents on the lino lakes campus. To give nursing staff more time to focus on direct client care on both campuses, a number of improvements were made throughout the year to home health processes and proceduresincluding medication management, health service assessments, and administrative operations.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Lyngblomsten community services provides resources and opportunities for older adults to enhance their quality of life and help them remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. With the opening of lyngblomsten at lino lakes, some programming was expanded to residents of this new campus and to those living in their own homes in the lino lakes area. A total of 581 persons were served in 2023 through lyngblomsten community services. Two hundred of them received caregiver/memory loss support, including through: memory loss caregiver support groups; educational programming; referral to resources; and the gathering, a group respite program for persons living with memory loss. While most programming in 2023 was offered in-person, a few programs continued to be offered virtually. Staff focused on educating the wider community with several presentations on topics related to memory loss and older adults, including the healthy brain and 10 signs of dementia. Other offerings included evidence-based wellness classes, such as living well with chronic conditions and a matter of balance, in partnership with the faith community nurse network of the greater twin cities.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 5% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

Left out of every figure on this page: $9.9M from 3 payers (the payer shares this organization's board, largest Lyngblomsten Foundation). These are real filings, and they are not money LYNGBLOMSTEN SERVICES INC raised.

From the IRS filings of LYNGBLOMSTEN SERVICES INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

LYNGBLOMSTEN SERVICES INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 82% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

87% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LYNGBLOMSTEN SERVICES INC.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $12k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
