Mission

LVL1 (pronounced LevelOne) is a Maker Space. We are an all-volunteer organization, organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. We provide a physical shop with tools where people with diverse interests (such as science, technology, digital, mechanical, and electrical art) can meet to socialize and collaborate. We are an open community where people of diverse backgrounds can share knowledge and resources to learn and make things.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. We are an all-volunteer community makerspace. We maintain an 8,500 sq.f.t space as a lab/shop/studio with tools. Members have RFID-badge 24x7 access to our facilities and can bring guests. We conduct weekly meetings that are open to the general public that include show-and-tells and periodic guest speakers with topics of interest. We conduct informal training and more formal certification on the use of our shop equipment. We host two Google Groups (one open to the general public and the other that is member oriented) and use DISCOURSE as an additional online membership communication channel. 1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of LVL1 INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of LVL1 INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
