01What it does

What Love & Inspire Nations Through Compassion does

Mission

LINC is dedicated to providing poverty-stricken individuals and families access to food, education, and medical care through our Education Matters, Medical Assistance, and Livelihood Programs. By giving financial support and building one-on-one relationships, we hope to lessen the burden that billions endure on a daily basis.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Programs

  1. Medical Assistance - When illness strikes in developing countries, many fear for the worst--death. Since the daily grind of life is a struggle in itself, the ability to go to a doctor or hospital is simply out of the question. Access to medical care within a developing country is not as easy as one would hope but, through this program, we can oftentimes be the missing link. From doctor visits and the purchasing of medications, to hospital admittance and surgeries, we help cover the expenses, either in part or in full, that often prevent many from obtaining the care/treatment they need. We believe everyone deserves a chance for a healthy life. In 2024, LINC provided five individuals with monetary funding through this program. One individual continues to be assisted in the purchasing of personal care items for a condition he has had since birth as we continue to search for a more permanent solution for him. Four individuals received monetary funding for emergency surgeries.

  2. Livelihood - When uncontrollable circumstances interrupt life, many are left to face the challenges on their own. It is LINC's goal to join with them, working together, to form a path towards self-sustainability. Some individuals or families need one-time assistance, while others may need more long-term assistance until the current situation they are in can change. In 2024 LINC supported one family of four through this program.

  3. Education Matters - Many individuals in developing countries, especially those from rural villages, will never have the opportunity to provide a better quality of life for their families due to their lack of education. Through this program, our goal is to change the course for many. In 2024, LINC supported seven individuals with monetary funding who would have otherwise gone without an education. Six individuals were supported while in the elementary, junior high and high school grades, while one was supported in college. The support helped cover the costs associated with books, uniforms and tuition fees.

2 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of LOVE & INSPIRE NATIONS THROUGH COMPASSION’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. How concentrated its funding is

LOVE & INSPIRE NATIONS THROUGH COMPASSION leans on a few funders — its largest provides 96% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LOVE & INSPIRE NATIONS THROUGH COMPASSION.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 98% · 2023 100% — broadly stable.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Where its funders are

100% of LOVE & INSPIRE NATIONS THROUGH COMPASSION's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $14k arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
