What Long Beach Youth Chorus does
Mission
Our mission is to be a diverse multi-chorus organization that provides every child in the region with the opportunity to perform in a choir.
As stated on its FY2026 Form 990-EZ.
Program
The Long Beach Youth Chorus has significant accomplishments in our 25-26 season. Besides our three regular season concerts, our singers sang at six other events in Long Beach. In addition, we took our first major tour in June of 2026 to New York City, where our singers sang two performances in Carnegie Hall. Our enrollment stayed near 60 kids, grades 2-12, in four different choirs: Young Musicians Program (grades 2-6), Master Singers and Chamber Choir (grades 7-12) and an after-school choir at Intellectual Virtues Academy Middle School. It was a very successful year for the Chorus musically, with many of the older kids taking on leadership roles in the Chorus and really honing their musicianship skills.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2025 to 2026, from $20k to $10k (−48%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
91% of LONG BEACH YOUTH CHORUS’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (64% for the typical peer).
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 1 of the last 4 reported years ran a deficit.
