What Life Enrichment Options does
Mission
Life Enrichment Options (leo) is a community based non-profit organization that works to enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.
Programs
Housing - leo maintains 5 dshs licensed adult family homes, which are debt free and currently provides affordable housing for 27 adults experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd). Each adult family home has a live-in care provider who rents and operates the home as their own business and are licensed with dshs. The care providers meet the medical and personal care needs of each resident per their dshs care assessment. This type of community-based housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities helps to further our mission of providing a quality of life for individuals with idd by helping them to live in their own community with the personal care supports to help them live an active and full life of their choosing.
$235,660 spent$125,640 earned by the program96% of program spendingAdvocacy & education - leo supports families and individuals experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd) by advocating for needed services, educating families on available resources and helping them to navigate the available services. We support many families within our service area of issaquah, snoqualmie valley and rural eastern king county. We do this by hosting educational forums and presenting at community events. We share resource materials and links to resources that might be helpful for families who support an individual with idd. We can also meet with families directly to help them connect with the right resources or services needed.
$5,914 spent2% of program spendingRecreation & community involvement - leo has historically partnered with many local organizations to work together to promote including adults experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd) in community events such as the rotary club sponsored gravity car challenge races for children with idd. Leo often participates in the annual fenders on front street and salmon days events. We work closely with the issaquah parks and community services to offer other recreational events to supplement what issaquah offers such as thursday night hangouts, our annual picnic and holiday party.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $2.2M to $2.6M (+19%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
61% of LIFE ENRICHMENT OPTIONS’s revenue is contributions — more donation-reliant than the typical peer (57% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 2 funders to 7 funders, grant income rose $16k → $51k.
4 of 12 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 57% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of LIFE ENRICHMENT OPTIONS’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
LIFE ENRICHMENT OPTIONS leans on a few funders — its largest provides 33% of grant income and the top three 81%; half comes from just 2 funders.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left
57% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LIFE ENRICHMENT OPTIONS.
Largest funder’s share by year: 2017 94% · 2018 65% · 2019 100% · 2020 63% · 2021 36% · 2022 42% · 2023 29% — diversifying over time.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How long its funders stay
60% of LIFE ENRICHMENT OPTIONS's funders are still giving 3 years after their first grant; 67% give in more than one year at all.
Share of funders still giving k years after their first recorded grant, pooled across every acquisition cohort. A funder counts as retained in a year only if it made a grant that year. Measured to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving — a funder cannot be counted as lapsed in a year most filers have not reached.
Where its funders are
57% of LIFE ENRICHMENT OPTIONS's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $140k that is directly attributable, 97% of it comes from Washington funders.
In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $187k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
