01What it does

What Lewis College of Business does

Mission

Lcb sees a world in which everybody is a student. Driven by a passion for education and an instinct for ingenuity, lcb aims to remove the limits of the classroom for every student in the world and make learning a daily practice. Lcb envisions a future in which education and opportunities are accessible to anyone who prepares for it. Lcb sees itself as the answer to the question, what happens when preparation meets adversity.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

On its FY2023 return the organization reported starting a significant new program.

Lcb has not filed a previous form 990, as it was dormant and was reinstated in 2023.

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 2).

  1. Lcb's main service is providing education programs called masterclasses in partnership with corporations in the product creation industry. These masterclasses ranged from three to five weeks, where students are selected from global outreach to aspiring designers that have an interest in specific careers such as footwear design, apparel design, accessories design, material design, color design, graphic design, and interior design. In partnership with lcb's corporate partners, such as nike, converse, adidas, new balance, michael kors, jimmy choo, versace (capri holdings), timberland, vans, the north face (vf corp.), pepsico, and foot locker, lcb co-creates a curriculum for sponsored programs, with the goal of creating a talent pipeline into the industry. See schedule o for additional information.at the end of every program, students receive a certificate of completion, and top students are offered a three-month to one-year paid internship opportunity with the sponsored brand. Lcb conducted six masterclasses that served over 120 students, with over 30 students receiving an internship or full-time position in a corporate partner organization.

Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.

2 of 8 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 36% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of LEWIS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

LEWIS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS leans on a few funders — its largest provides 36% of grant income and the top three 88%; half comes from just 2 funders.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 2 funders to its left

77% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund LEWIS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.0M arriving through sponsors registered in 2 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
