What Latina Legacy Foundation does
Mission
To offer educational programs and materials and provide technological software application platforms that enhance the working environment for working class communities employed in agriculture, manufacturing and other industries. Our goal is to empower young women to create change in Latino communities by solving traditional legacy problems with a unique cause-driven technology approach.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Program
We developed an application that would protect farm workers. It allows farmworkers to receive notifications when the temperature exceeds a certain threshold of 95 degrees, so that that farmworkers working in the fields take their legally mandated break for water, shade, and rest. It would Allow for farm workers to receive notifications containing tips on what to wear, eat, and drink to prepare for work in the fields based off weather data and individualized medical information. It hosts short educational articles, videos, and quizzes to educate farm workers about how to ensure their own safety and health as well understand their legal rights on the job. The app would function as a two-way emergency hotline to 911, contractors and health agencies by the utilizing built in GPS tracking services in order to locate farm workers in periods of distress caused by heat and dehydration.
The program described on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2018, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2018, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended.
Balance sheet
Total assets at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2018 to 2019, from $45k to $23k (−49%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
Surplus & reserves
Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 1 of the last 5 reported years ran a deficit.
