What Last Mile San Diego does
Mission
Our mission is to protect first responders, medical personnel, and the public from COVID-19. We also enable disaster relief, medical missions, and general healthcare initiatives. During the pandemic, Last Mile provided PPE donations to healthcare organizations, public vaccination centers, and healthcare providers by supplying materials and goods during the pandemic, including hand sanitizer, protective clothing, and face masks. All received in-kind donations. We are 100% volunteer and uncompensated. As the pandemic ended we primarily helped immunization drives and disaster relief events.
As stated on its FY2022 Form 990-EZ.
Programs
On its FY2021 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.
Last Mile was approved to become a 501(c)(3) for the first time in 2021 in order to accept large PPE donations from businesses that requested a tax exemption. Together with other non-profit organizations in San Diego and Los Angeles, we were able to supply $4,980,605 of in-kind donations of PPE around the country. Additionally, PPE was supplied to Tijuana and indirectly to the Philippines (via other US non-profits). A total of 101 organizations were supplied with 746,656 pieces of PPE material to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2021, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2021, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2021 to 2022, from $40k to $0 (−100%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.

Leadership and staff
The officers, directors, trustees and key employees listed on each return. Joined and no longer listed compare each filing with the year before, matching people by surname and first initial; a year after a gap, or a roster under three people, has no comparison.
