What Htx4ukraine does
Mission
Our exempt purpose is to protect and save the lives of the people of Ukraine by procuring medical gear and equipment that is unavailable or scarce in Ukraine and delivering it to the country. We are furthering this purpose by sourcing needed medical and non-lethal gear, such as battlefield first aid kits, and delivering it to trusted representatives in Ukraine who have communicated to us what their needs and who can ensure the equipment is used in accordance with our purpose of protecting and saving the lives of the people of Ukraine. The gear we deliver directly saves lives when people are injured, in cold weather, and in helping to see if there are threats in the area that need to be avoided. It also indirectly saves lives by helping soldiers who are fighting to save the lives of their fellow Ukrainians living near the frontlines.
As stated on its FY2023 Form 990-EZ.
Program
HTX4Ukraine has reached out to the Houston community online and in person to raise money to help with our mission of protecting and saving lives in Ukraine. The funds raised this year helped us procure over $78,000 in medical and non-lethal military aid here in the United States. This aid is usually hard to come by in Ukraine and is in urgently high demand. We held a running database of people traveling to Ukraine and other European countries that volunteered to take aid with them. We packed up the aid in suitcases and duffel bags, provided documentation of all contents in the luggage, and accompanied the travelers to the airport to assist in checking in the luggage. We ensured that the aid crosses all borders via proper documentation, and tracked the aid to its final destination with a designated military unit with whom we have developed a strong relationship. Our end- users/recipients in that unit then document the aid via photos and videos, usually from the frontline. This information was then shared to our followers and donors via various social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram. The activity was conducted solely by the organization's community volunteers and…

Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
1 of 3 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 69% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of HTX4UKRAINE’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
HTX4UKRAINE leans on a few funders — its largest provides 69% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
69% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HTX4UKRAINE.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
69% of HTX4UKRAINE's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $6k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Texas, across 2 states.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $12k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
