01What it does

What Knox County Land Reutilization Corporati does

Mission

The Knox County Land Reutilization Corporation (the "land bank") strengthens neighborhoods and preserves property values by strategically returning vacant, abandoned, tax-delinquent, and other properties to their most productive, and highest-and-best uses through a transparent and fair process.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Program

  1. In 2024 the land bank participated in the state brownfield grant and site revitalization grant programs which led to the cleanup of multiple blighted properties across the county. In addition, three residential projects were completed with newly renovated or constructed owner-occupied houses on formerly blighted properties. The year was also spent planning for the revitalization of the former mount vernon news building and heartland commerce park.
