What Keoni Movement Arts Inc does
Mission
Keoni Movement Arts' mission is to make yoga, dance, and gymnastics accessible to individuals in the New York City Area. Our vision is an inclusive world of empowered individuals with strong bodies, minds, and spirits connected to the global community. We provide classes and performance opportunities to a diverse demographic of individuals - from young to old, a wide level of abilities from neurotypical to atypical, and from all socio-economic backgrounds. As stated on its FY2025 Form 990-EZ.
Program
In our Fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, we served 68 distinct individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, including: low-income youth, disabled individuals, and older adults. In total, we provided 61 classes and workshops. Our class formats were: Chair Yoga Dance, Yoga Dance Flow, and Dance for Special Needs and Disabilities. We collaborated with one outside organization: Center for Family Support, which serves developmentally disabled adults. 100% of our classes were subsidized by grants and donations we received so that we could be open and accessible to all. Thus, we were able to implement a "pay-what-you-can" payment structures, so people could enroll in our programs regardless of their personal financial situation. And in some cases, we were able to offer "free" programming due to project grants we received. Our students ranged in age from 16 to 70+, including: at least 40 disabled persons and 24 older adults. We held three gatherings which featured our disabled / special needs individuals and older adults displaying their dance skills and choreography in front of friends, family, and KMA supporters. It was wonderful to create movement art as community, and the joy…

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2019 to 2020, from $19k to $78k (+306%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
87% of KEONI MOVEMENT ARTS INC’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (100% for the typical peer).

Operating surplus or deficit each year, and months of liquidity in hand. 4 of the last 9 reported years ran a deficit.
Who funds it, year by year
2017 → 2023: the base broadened from 3 funders to 4 funders, grant income fell $31k → $14k.
1 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 0% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

In-state vs out-of-state, by year
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $115 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been.
