Programs

  1. Kapaa Elementary Campus Projects: These ongoing projects focus on improving the campus for students, teachers, and staff, with the long-term goal of creating a more inviting and functional environment. In the 2025/2026 school year, we introduced Hale Pono, a reward room similar to a fun center where students demonstrating kindness, respect, and responsibility earn tickets and a chance to enjoy playtime on Fridays. We also funded the construction of wooden tables and benches placed around campus, and we continue to cover the cost of filtered water from Menehune for the health room to ensure clean water is available to students in need. We continue to help support the Hale Pono room by purchase additional supplies (i.e. beads, string, air dry clay, dress up costumes, toys, etc.), as well as replace games/furniture that breaks from usage (i.e. air hockey table). We continue to support the health room with filtered water and healthy snacks.

  2. Teacher & Staff Appreciation: To support our teachers and staff, who often use their own money for classroom needs, we provide a catered meal during Teacher Appreciation Week, reimburse up to $150 in supplies for paid PTA member teachers, and assist the Aloha Committee with activities that boost staff morale through refreshments, food, and other small gestures. We also catered all the teacher in-service / waiver days this school year and plan to do that again this coming school year. This school year we also started renovating the teacher lounges. Cleaned, painted, purchased new furniture and decor, etc. Just trying to help make it a more relaxing and enjoyable place for our teachers to take a break. We also purchased k-cup coffee machines and stocked the lounges with coffee supplies to start off this past school year. We plan to do a refresh of all of this for the upcoming school year as well.

  3. Put on student events that are designed to engage students while also welcoming their families. As a Title 1 school serving many socially and economically disadvantaged students, our goal is to positively impact every child's life. We do this by hosting free annual events such as movie nights, the winter extravaganza, track and field club, and glo night; funding field trips so costs are minimal or free; supporting end-of-year school parties, fifth grade promotion, and the annual May Day program; and providing extra funding for programs that strengthen students social, emotional, and educational well-being. We also help cover the cost of food for family engagement nights and kindergarten orientation. We even increased from one movie night to two per school year because it has been so popular. We also brought back the "after school clubs" which were fun clubs that students could participate in for a minimal fee during the second and third quarter. We had clubs like baking, arts & crafts, chess club, etc. We do plan to continue the after-school clubs for this coming school year and will fully eliminate the fee so any student regardless of economic background will be able to sign up.…

1 of 1 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of Kapaa Elementary School PTSA Inc’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of Kapaa Elementary School PTSA Inc's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $129 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
