01What it does

What K-9 Caring Angels Caring Angels Therapy Dogs does

Mission

The warriors angel's are the service dog arm of caring angels. We chose the word warrior because a warrior is a fighter who fights the good fight and is valient in the face of hardship. While warriors can stand alone, they are stronger with their brothers and sisters in arms beside them. In this spirit, much like a guardian angel, our warrior's angels stand by their side, offering support and unwavering loyalty. Our soldiers protect and serve our country, but sometimes that comes at a great personal cost. With one of our angels by their side, our fighters can regain the joy, confidence and serenity they deserve for their selfless service. Fighters aren't only our american soldiers. These brave souls are victims fighting back to regain the joy and confidence they once enjoyed and special needs children fighting to overcome the unique challenges they face in everyday life.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Our mission is to provide highly trained, affectionate and caring dogs of all types that share their loving paws and happy tails with people in need. All of our handlers are volunteers dedicated to their canine companions and to giving back to the community whether through caring angels events or through opportunities they have sought on their own to help the citizens of our community.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2019 → 2023: the base narrowed from 2 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $3k → $278.

1 of 4 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 26% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of K-9 Caring Angels Caring Angels Therapy Dogs’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

K-9 Caring Angels Caring Angels Therapy Dogs leans on a few funders — its largest provides 51% of grant income and the top three 92%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

40% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund K-9 Caring Angels Caring Angels Therapy Dogs.

Largest funder’s share by year: 2019 86% · 2020 100% · 2021 100% · 2022 62% · 2023 100% — growing more concentrated.

“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1k arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
