01What it does

What Jeremie Rising does

Mission

Medical, educational, hunger/shelter/disaster-related assistance in and around Jeremie, Haiti

As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Jeremie Rising organizes tuition sponsorships for K-12 eligible children whose parents struggle just to feed them in Haiti's depressed economy. In 2025, 220 children received such sponsorships, an 50-child increase from the prior year. Our ground team validates need and recommends candidates, verifies grade level and tuition cost, and makes payment direct to the schools. When a child fails, we are inclined to support repeating the grade once given the difficult circumstances in the country. The total cost also includes the provision of school uniforms and backpacks, and another 11 boys and girls enrolled in nursing or trade schools, or college programs.

  2. Jeremie Rising built 18 simple shelter homes for homeless families in 2025. These are small, 3-4 room structures featuring tin-sheet-on-wood-frame walls and roof, mounted on a concrete pad. These homes feature windows and lockable doors. We also provide mattresses and sheets, solar lanterns, basic household items, and simple clean-water systems for these families.

  3. Jeremie Rising manages two orphanages, Foyer des Petites in Gebeau (on the outskirts of Jeremie) and the Roseaux Orphanage in Roseaux (a seaside village 25 minutes from Jeremie). Food, water, cooking fuel, monthly wellness visits, solar power and security are provided, as is ongoing facility maintenance. The orphanages are home to 65 children, including 7 with special needs at Foyer. The orphanages are staffed by a combined total of eight Haitian men and women.

03Who funds it

Who funds it, year by year

2021 → 2023: the base held at 3 funders, grant income fell $51k → $25k.

3 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 61% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of JEREMIE RISING’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

How concentrated its funding is

JEREMIE RISING leans on a few funders — its largest provides 59% of grant income and the top three 97%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

89% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund JEREMIE RISING.

Where its funders are

61% of JEREMIE RISING's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $119k that is directly attributable, 100% of it comes from funders outside Utah, across 3 states.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $185k arriving through sponsors registered in 3 states is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
