What Iep Collaborative Inc does

Mission

IEP Collaborative Inc. IEPC seeks the opportunity for students with disabilities to reach their full potential by securing appropriate Special Education SpEd programming-one child at a time. Our services are free and include attorney-presented SpEd rights workshops SpEd legislative advocacy and legal services including legal clinics offering advice and counsel limited scope direct representation offering appearance at SpEd meetings and extended representation in legal proceedings on behalf of children with disabilities if determined necessary. We strive to ensure that our clients have access to appropriate and inclusive educational services. Those equipped with a legally informed approach are better able to secure appropriate IEP and Section 504 services and improve long-term outcomes and quality of life while cultivating stronger and more inclusive communities.

As stated on its FY2021 Form 990.

Program

California students with disabilities are eligible to receive our free legal services irrespective of family income. 55 families and 57 students sought access to our legal services in 2021. Surveys showed clients gained access to services and confidence navigating the special education system. While our free legal services program does not maintain income eligibility requirements our 2021 services addressed the fact that the denial of FAPE Free and Appropriate Public Education is disproportionate. As self- reported on intake at least 62% are low-income; 62% self-identify as people of color and 31% are families headed by caregivers aged 55 -72.?

Who funds it, year by year

2020 → 2023: the base narrowed from 2 funders to 1 funder, grant income fell $10k → $74.

2 of 5 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 37% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

How concentrated its funding is

IEP COLLABORATIVE INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 56% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

37% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund IEP COLLABORATIVE INC.
