What Iafci does

Mission

To provide services and an environment within which information about financial fraud investigation and prevention methods can be collected, exchanged, and taught for the common good of the financial payment industry and global society.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990.

Programs

  1. Conferences/seminars provide education in techniques and methods used in loss prevention and information about problems and requirements of financial fraud investigation and prevention. Members consist of investigators, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, special agents and employees of card issuing institutions. The organization provides workshops and training programs to acquaint law enforcement with new advances in the industry and to bring attention to the increasingly sophisticated methods used by the criminal element.

  2. Certification programs provide training and education in specific aspects of financial fraud and cyber investigation and prevention.

  3. Chapter functions held by domestic and international chapters provide an educational forum for the exchange of information about local or regional issues of financial crime prevention.

Each line starts at 100 in 2017, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2017, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.

Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
