01What it does

What Hsa Council does

Mission

The homeland security advisory council (hsac) is the indispensable bridge for public safety collaboration in the greater los angeles region. Hsac develops an active regional and national network of thought leaders in the private, public, and civic sectors that make the los angeles region better prepared, more secure, and more resilient in the face of all threats.

As stated on its FY2021 Form 990.

Program

Hsac works as an indispensable bridge between problems and solutions in public safety by convening stakeholders and providing them with communication and collaboration platforms through technology, education and research at no cost to taxpayers, government or public safety entities. In 2016, hsac created salus - the crisis hub, a web-based, computer platform that amalgamates and tailors mapping and spatial analytics technology to enhance data-driven decision making, resource management, situational awareness and real-time information sharing. The salus platform supports incident/emergency management, security, business continuity and community resilience at no cost to government officials. In addition, hsac convened the private, public, and civic sectors to support public safety and resiliency efforts in the greater los angeles region.

The first program described on its most recent Form 990, which lists programs largest first by expense.
