01What it does

What Honoring Our Heroes does

Mission

To recognize and honor veterans and former first responders by providing free home repairs, safety modifications and maintenance services for those that are physically and/or financially unable to complete these tasks themselves. Additionally, we will develop programs that assist and encourage others to seek a life of service to our nation and our communities.

As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.

Program

  1. Operation Home of Our Heroes supported veteran housing by providing critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and maintenance services. We completed more than 40 projects in 2024. Operation Caregiver Support assisted 3 veteran wives that were caring for disabled veterans in 2024 with home maintenance. Operation Fast Rack assisted 16 veteran households in 2024.

2 of 2 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 100% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.

From the IRS filings of HONORING OUR HEROES’s funders (the co-funder graph). Top 1 of 2 funders by total. Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.

Where its funders are

100% of HONORING OUR HEROES's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Too little is directly attributable to place on a map.

Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $84 arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
