Mission

HONK! Fest West is dedicated to the activation of public space through energetic musical performance.

Program

  1. Through HONK Festival West, we provide free music and cultural programming. We host performances with musical groups from across the country. Performances are primarily all ages and take place in public spaces. Additionally, we increase access to cultural programming by holding performances in communities currently underserved by the arts. We hold events on 15 days out of the year, serving 3,000 individual community members.

How concentrated its funding is

HONK FESTIVAL WEST leans on a few funders — its largest provides 88% of grant income and the top three 100%; half comes from just 1 funder.

the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left

100% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund HONK FESTIVAL WEST.
