What Hera School does
Mission
Hera School is a nonprofit aviation academy committed to increasing access to flight training for underrepresented communities, especially young women and minorities. Our mission is to provide fully funded, community-driven pathways to careers in aviation through education, mentorship, and flight experience.
As stated on its FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Program
In 2024, we laid the foundation for long-term growth and impact. Two of our four Emerald students successfully passed their private pilot written exams and completed their first solo flightsmajor milestones in their aviation journey. We leased a hangar to begin developing our future airplane mechanic apprenticeship program, co-hosted a drone-focused summer camp for underprivileged youth in Alviso, and formed new community partnerships with organizations like Compass Point Mentorship and members of the Latino Pilots Association to further expand our reach and support network.
