01What it does

What Global Entrepreneurship Week does

Mission

Global Entrepreneurship Week (gew) runs a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare

As stated on its FY2023 Form 990.

Program

On its FY2023 return the organization reported a significant change in how it conducts a program.

Effective december 12, 2023, Global Entrepreneurship Week has been dissolved and will no longer continue it's operations. Hence 2023 tax year is the final year form 990. The net assets has been transferred to its affiliate "global entrepreneurship network".

Its own explanation, from Schedule O of that return (Part III, line 3).

  1. Gew, inc. Runs one program - Global Entrepreneurship Week, an international campaign that occurs each november to get more people to consider the path of entrepreneurship. Firms less than five years old drive most net new jobs and struggling communities everywhere need more entrepreneurs. Diversity is a driver of innovation and economies cannot meet their full potential if a nation or group of people are underrepresented or face structural barriers. Therefore, gew aims, in particular, to engage historically underrepresented communities and those who have traditionally faced barriers to entrepreneurship in an effort to provide opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds. Global Entrepreneurship Week has now expanded to 180+ nations with roughly 40,000 events each year that engage millions of people.

The program described on its FY2023 Form 990.
