What Future Perfect Project Inc does
Mission
To help lgbtqia+ youth amplify their voice and tell the story of their generation by producing and facilitating creative workshops, media projects, and live performances of their original work.
As stated on its FY2025 Form 990.
Programs
General program - fpp's general programs are a connected pathway that help lgbtq+ young people find, develop, and present their written and spoken voice from first contact to finished work, both in-person and virtual. Since founding, we've made over 100 in-person workshops and visits to lgbtq+ centers and schools across 23 states, meeting young people where they live. We conduct 5-10 in-person workshops nationwide annually, with participant numbers ranging from 10-30 people, totaling up to 300 participants yearly. Writers ages 13-19 apply to join fpp's writer's room, a free, year-round, bi-monthly workshop where they draft new work, read aloud, and build their craft alongside a national online network of 400+ active members. The most committed can apply into the julie novak original voice residency, a selective four-month mentorship that pairs them with working professionals to develop a signature project from concept to completion, culminating to a weeklong residency in provincetown, massachusetts, in partnership with the fine arts work center. Other programs include future perfect records (fpr), fpp's songwriting residency in which lgbtq+ artists ages 15-22 develop, record, and…

Is fpp's youth-led, youth-produced podcast, written and hosted by a new cohort of aspiring lgbtq+ journalists and storytellers each season. This year, the program expanded to a new production schedule, increasing both its episode output and its national listenership. It is produced entirely by youth participants under professional mentorship, giving them hands-on training in writing, audio production, and editorial leadership. Free to make and free to hear, ifqt extends fpp's reach far beyond any single city to listeners in the places a young queer person is most likely to feel alone.

These workshops provided queer and allied youth with safe, affirming spaces to practice self-expression and develop professional creative skills. By partnering with institutions like kingston hs, brooklyn tech, and out memphis, we reached hundreds of young people, empowering them to share their authentic stories and visions for the future. Our programming remains 100% free to participants, ensuring accessibility for all lgbtqia+ youth seeking community and artistic mentorship.

The organization over time
Each line starts at 100 in 2023, so what you read is the shape rather than the size: 150 means half as much again as 2023, 50 means half. The number beside each label in the key is where it ended. The shaded band is where the middle 50% of its peers' revenue would sit, given their growth.
Balance sheet
Total assets and total liabilities at each year end, in dollars. The largest one-year move in total assets was 2024 to 2025, from $226k to $955k (+323%).
How it's funded, over time
Each bar is one year's revenue split into where it came from, and every bar is the same height — these are shares, not amounts, so a year that raised twice as much looks the same size. Hover a bar for the split.
93% of FUTURE PERFECT PROJECT INC’s revenue is contributions — about as donation-reliant as the typical peer (99% for the typical peer).

Who funds it, year by year
Grant support over time, funder by funder — shade shows the grant size each year.
2 of 6 of your funders are donor-advised or pass-through sponsors (tagged DAF) — 91% of grant dollars received. That money is really individual donors directing a sponsor; the institutions to cultivate are the non-DAF funders.
From the IRS filings of FUTURE PERFECT PROJECT INC’s funders (the co-funder graph). Association, not causation. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
How concentrated its funding is
FUTURE PERFECT PROJECT INC leans on a few funders — its largest provides 89% of grant income and the top three 95%; half comes from just 1 funder.
the vertical line marks half of all grant income — 1 funder to its left
93% of the income these shares are computed over arrives through pass-through sponsors or from payers whose filings do not say what kind of payment it is. Concentration is still measured over all of it, because the money is real; what it does not support is a claim about how many institutions have chosen to fund FUTURE PERFECT PROJECT INC.
“Effective funders” = inverse Herfindahl index (1 / Σ shareᵢ²) — the number of equal-sized funders that would give the same concentration. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
Where its funders are
91% of FUTURE PERFECT PROJECT INC's grant income arrives through donor-advised or pass-through sponsors, whose addresses record where the money is held rather than where the donor is. Of the $99k that is directly attributable, 75% of it comes from funders outside New York, across 3 states.
Funder states come from each funder’s own filing. $1.0M arriving through sponsors registered in 1 state is excluded from the map and the split above: a sponsor holds money on a donor’s behalf, so its registered address would place those dollars somewhere no donor need ever have been. Trends are read to FY2023, the last fiscal year that has finished arriving. FY2024–FY2026 are still being filed and are shown unshaded; they do not move any figure on this page.
