Program
The strengthening seed freedom and food freedom project trained 3,210farmers in 184 seed freedom schools and 2,287 farmers in 121 schools on food freedom, held in eight indian states. Another 1,367 farmers were trained in 30 earth democracy schools. The earth university offered additional schools that trained more farmers: 71 in seed freedom, 87 in food freedom and 196 in earth democracy. Navdanya's seed bank operations maintained 63 seed banks that saved 8,064 variety of seeds and distributed 27,412 tons of seeds that benefited 2,984 farmers. Maintained the biodiversity farm with its research program and learning centre. Worked with 245 farmers in seven indian states to create community biodiversity registers of medicinal plants, wild uncultivated edible plants and trees. Organized 35 regional seed, food and earth festivals that were attended by 3,600 farmers across seven indian states.
